Its Great to be saved

I thank my Savior daily for saving me. I believe to many time we take for granted the gift of salvation. We should

remember that a great price was paid for our salvation. The shed blood of Jesus Christ that paid it all for us. So, why did Paul say "I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise." I believe it was because of the love Paul had for the Savior. Paul felt an overwhelming sense of duty to his master. That is the same sense of duty we must feel. Paul had a desire to see souls saved, those of his countrymen (Romans

10:1) and those of the gentiles (Romans 15:16). How often do we witness. Do we just reserve one night a week to witness or are we constantly on the lookout for souls. Remember we are to be "witness unto me both in Jerusalem and in all Judaea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the world". Acts 1:8 This past Saturday I found a terrific place to witness. Our son plays baseball and they were at a tournament for Thursday- Saturday. So my wife had to help wash the clothes. While they were at the laundry matte I found a great place to witness. A lot of times people are there alone for several minutes and they are bored and that is a perfect opportunity to witness. Even the people that frequent washateria need Jesus. We are debtor even to them. Did I win any Saturday? No but I witnessed. Remember "a sower went forth to sow". Not all Christians are shepherds but we all should be gardners..

December trip Cont.

We awoke early on December 5th to go to Kalinga. We headed out about 8:00 am and we were already late. We should have left at about 5:00 am. We stopped in San Fernando La Union to get some money exchanged and eat then proceeded up the coast to Narvacan Ilocos Sur. This is the place that we headed inland toward Kalinga. We traveled about 5 miles and we entered Abra. When we entered Abra we went thru a small check point. About 5 miles further along the road we came to a tunnel so we stopped and took some pictures and I noticed a bunch of Philippine military men fully armed to the teeth. They had M-16 with grenade launchers and a lot of self propelled grenades on there web gear. ( I believe there called M-203’s). We soon learned why as we kept seeing soldiers all along the highway as we neared Bangued Abra. That is where we ate a later lunch after our driver took a wrong turn and we went about 5 miles out of our way.

After lunch we got on the correct road and headed to ward Kalinga. About 125miles away. The road for the first 15 miles was paved and excellent then it turned to gravel and single lane as we entered the mountains. Not fun, being in a jeepney up on the side of those mountains with wash outs and six inches at times to spare on either side of the jeepney. It was beautiful, but deadly. We then realized why the soldiers were down in the valley on the other side of Bangued. I kept noticing small signs on the side of the road, some were on trees and some were on sticks with cardboard and they all read "Danger, you are entering rebel territory, enter at your own risk ".We had seen about 8-10 of the signs over the last 20 miles. The time now was about 5:30 pm we were about 20 miles from the border of Kalinga way up in the middle of no where when we turned a curve and we saw… !

Praise God

God has just about filled up our calendar up until September of this year. He is so good to us. On the left you will notice our pray needs. We are planning (God willing) on going back to the Philippines in July as the whole month is opened and no one has even tried to book us during that time. So pray for us to raise the money to go. We would like to stay at least 3 – 4 weeks this time as we have a lot of work to do there when we go getting ready for the time when we will be there fulltime starting September 2007.

Thanks and keep praying for us.
